IT Manager (Database)

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the management of the database systems including database administration, upgrade, performance tuning, capacity planning, maintenance, housekeeping and optimization, backup and restoration, security patch management, access control, disaster recovery etc.
  • Create and maintain updated policies and procedures related to operation, security, integrity and availability on all database related components.
  • Plan, evaluate, recommend and implement security measures to safeguard information in Database against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
  • Design and ensure database solutions are implemented in an efficient manner; requirements are met; and security is maintained
  • Analyze database needs and develop a long-term strategy for data storage and data management to support the business’s goals and objectives
  • Lead the team to work with colleagues in IT or other divisions, vendors or partners to achieve the department’s objectives.
  • Manage vendors to meet service level agreement
  • Work as part of a project team to manage database requirement and determine project scope and limitations

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Sciences or Information Technology or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing and supporting Enterprise Database, experience in Oracle EBS is preferred
  • Oracle Certified Professional in 12c and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in Microsoft SQL Server are preferred
  • Proficiency and knowledge in Oracle and MS SQL Server databases
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (Always On) and Oracle 12c (RAC, Data Guard)
  • Experience on Linux/AIX platform
  • Knowledge in Cloud Technologies and other databases like MySQL, No SQL, Hadoop, in-memory databases and data lake will be an advantage
  • Holder of ITIL Foundation Certification will also be an advantage
  • Good Project management skills and experience in liaison with third-party vendors and counterparts
  • Good communication skills in English & Chinese (including Mandarin) are required
  • Occasional travel to Mainland China
