Aged 85, Dr Cheng joined the Group in 1993. Dr Cheng obtained an
engineering degree from Tianjin University and a postgraduate diploma
from Imperial College, London, UK, of which he is a Fellow. He is a
past President, Honorary Fellow and Gold Medallist of The Hong
Kong Institution of Engineers, Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy
of Engineering Sciences, and past Vice President, Fellow and Gold
Medallist of The Institution of Structural Engineers, Fellow of The
Institution of Civil Engineers, UK, Honorary Fellow of The Institution
of Engineers, Australia, and an Authorized Person and Registered
Structural Engineer in Hong Kong, with a State Class 1 Registered
Structural Engineer qualification. Dr Cheng was a Member of both the
Executive and Legislative Councils and Chairman of the Hong Kong
Housing Authority. Dr Cheng is an Independent Non-Executive Director
of Wing Hang Bank, Limited, Agile Property Holdings Limited and
Tianjin Development Holdings Limited. He is also an Independent Non-
Executive Director of Hang Lung Group Limited.
