(Hong Kong, June 3, 2014) Fashion Walk, the stylish gem of Hang Lung Properties in Causeway Bay, is collaborating with OUTSIGN.lab and Love Da Records to host a six month-long music festival, “Found The Sound”. This innovative event will showcase leading performers in Hong Kong’s independent and eclectic music scene with performances and workshops by an exciting range of bands and singers. The festival will create a brand-new experience for customers, allowing them to immerse themselves simultaneously in music, art and fashion.

“Found The Sound” will run from now until August and musicians will perform at 5pm on every second and fourth Saturday of each month. The festival will feature a wide array of musical styles, including folk, pop, independent rock and electronic music. The BOSE professional sound systems will ensure that audiences will enjoy the very best sound quality and will be truly able to appreciate fully the live music. As an extra treat, audiences will be able to enjoy a chilled Hoegaarden beer – the traditional Belgian white beer for free. Fashion Walk tenants will also style the performers in their latest summer collections, creating a perfect blend of music and fashion.

Last Saturday (May 31), three local bands performed at Fashion Walk. They were New Youth Barber Shop, ni.ne.mo and Eli. The bands were highly effective in using their distinctive brand of music as a means of self-expression and a true reflection of the trends and moods of youth in Hong Kong.

Fashion Walk has always been an avid supporter of the community’s vibrant music and artistic endeavors. “Found The Sound” is Fashion Walk’s first attempt at infusing music into arts workshops, including shadow puppetry, art jamming and body painting. Shoppers, creative professionals and design school students are all invited to experience this magical fusion of arts and music.

The six-month “Found The Sound” festival was kick started on April 12, 2014 by famous singer Erik Piece and the popular jangle pop band Fantastic Day.

To raise awareness about the Hong Kong’s fascinating and lively independent music scene, “Found The Sound” will release an album of 13 songs performed by home-grown singers and bands from different music scenes, including folk, pop, indie rock and electronic. The album will feature highly anticipated singles such as “我的志願” by New Youth Barber Shop, “抓緊青春的尾巴” by Yuki Lovey, the former vocalist of leading band The Lee’s, and “Starry memory” by FAD. The “Found The Sound” album will be available shortly at major music stores, and is also available for download at KKBOX, iTunes and Spotify.
