This week at ReThink HK 2025, our Sustainability team, John Haffner and Carmen Ng, showcased Hang Lung’s leadership in ESG by sharing our forward-thinking strategies on corporate transition planning, circular economy and sustainable supply chain.
Our team brought fresh perspectives to some of the most pressing challenges in real estate. Regarding transition planning, John spoke about lessons learned from Hang Lung’s Journey to Net Zero paper published earlier this year, and highlighted the importance and value of long-term decarbonization models to support investment planning. Carmen showcased the power of tenant engagement and supplier partnership programs to enhance resource circularity and operational efficiencies in urban environments. Lastly, on sustainable supply chain, John emphasized that Hang Lung’s recent pioneering low carbon emissions steel transactions in our Plaza Pavilion Extension project and Westlake 66 would not have been possible without supplier collaboration.
Their insights reflect Hang Lung's commitment to accelerating sustainability progress, including achieving net zero value chain emissions by 2050. Our holistic approach integrates climate resilience, resource management, wellbeing, and sustainable transactions, delivering measurable outcomes to create lasting impact in real estate sector.
Events like ReThink HK underline the power of collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing a resilient, circular economy. We look forward to building more partnerships and continuing the dialogue to drive meaningful change across the industry.
